Online PosterShop:
Hewlett-Packard in partnership with Kinko's needed to create a web-based
poster design application and interface. Acting as interaction designer
and project manager, together with 1 visual designer, and 1 programmer,
we built the HP Online PosterShop.
Task
Create a large format poster design web site that provides page layout
functionality, design templates, image and text manipulation.
User
- Non page-layout savvy users (e.g. travel agents).
- Kinko's personnel.
Technology
- ASP with server side image editing.
- HP's multi-resolution web-image technology.
- Server-side PDF for secure download.
Process
- Develop functional spec and identify technology that could provide functionality.
- Design interaction flow.
- Graphic Design.
- Programming.
- Think Aloud User testing.
- Iterate.
- Deliver to spec, on time, on budget solution.
