iV-Can'tGetUp
Anxieties
about losing business to other establishments leads to limited exposure
and distribution of iGather. For those businesses that do adopt it,
privacy concerns of the techno savvy 20-30 something clientele lead
to very limited saturation. It does succeed in the "instant messaging"
space as a mobile "Chat" client, but again safety concerns limit it's
use as a broadcasting tool for companionship finding. It isn't long
before graying baby boomers realize its value as a child-tracker, and
even more so as an elderly parent tracker. The privacy filters built
into earlier iGather models are augmented in response. Successive upgrades
result in the iV line of iGather devices, with the iV-Can'tGetUp being
popular among the incapacitated elderly who take comfort in knowing
that location based help summoning capabilities are now available any-time/any-where.
Bandwidth abuse by elderly parents unexpectedly leads to increased contact
with their children, who become more place bound as a result. Community
based family units experience a renaissance.
